Kozy Juggling Taste Buds for Christmas!?!

Older Kozy is fretting over how to juggle the taste buds of her family over Christmas this year:

Let's see, Older Solomon doesn't eat any meat or fish or raw fruits and vegetables ( kind of like a vegetarian that doesn't really like vegetables-mac and cheese for him.)

Younger Buddy doesn't eat many vegetables and is extremely allergic to nuts and shellfish.

Younger Kozy is partial to any meats that are organic and humanely treated (who could be against that?)

Younger Trooper really likes shellfish and her two offspring very young Solomon and very young Buddy say "oh yuk" to most things except for chicken strips dipped in Ranch-(much to the chagrin of their parents younger Buddy and the aforementioned younger Trooper, who are trying to eat healthily and expose their offspring to healthy fruits and veg-- to expand their horizons so that they will not be picky when they grow up.)

What's Kozy to do? Any ideas?

Forgiveness looks like what?

This is a startlingly powerful vision of forgiveness in my opinion:

Forgiveness is the boundary between exclusion and embrace. It heals the wounds that the power-acts of exclusion have inflicted and breaks down the dividing wall of hostility. Yet it leaves a distance between people, an empty space of neutrality, that allows them either to go their separate ways in what is sometimes called ‘peace’ or to fall into each other’s arms and restore broken communion.

definition of insanity?

You've heard that the definition of insanity is "doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results."

I would say this is the definition of normal. Each of us most likely has noticed getting locked into a familiar argument with a loved one or friend which ends badly (as usual).

I certainly have. And when the argument is over, I'm scratching my head thinking "what just happened?"

Well, probably what just happened is that your wounded "little guy" inside of you ( say around 5 years old) is arguing with the wounded "little guy" in the other person. What if you could see these wounded "little guys" as lovable animals? It might be easier to gain perspective and have a chuckle in the meantime.

Gain insight to break frustrating patterns with loved ones ( or boss)! Find out the style of your "little guy" inside of you by taking www.whatsyouranimal.com quiz. Then read the Care & Feeding documents for your "little guy's" style.

How is the "little guy" inside of you?

How is the “little guy” inside of you? You would like to know how he is running your your life, right?

We each have a childhood trance or ego style (our "little guy") that developed a strategy to deflect pain and negative consequences in our childhood. Our "little guy" has a “knee jerk” script which is often triggered by present circumstances which remind us of childhood events. When this happens our "little guy" takes over with emotions, thoughts and actions which sometimes may even seem "out of place." Sound familiar?

Which one of these EAnimal "little guys" most resembles your "little guy's" style?

Are You Driving a Model T?

I teach about the 9 different styles of relating ( Enneagram theory) and how each of us adopts a style in childhood that suits our inborn traits as well as our environment. This style that we adopted in childhood limits our choices and narrows our field of experiences as an adult.

Imagine using the same pattern of thinking (childhood preferred style) over and over no matter what the circumstance! That would be like continuing to drive a Model T, meant for the small dirt roads of the past, on the 21st century expressway that is your life now!

Excerpt from EAnimals story

Champ shook her head to bring herself back to the present. At that moment she saw Picasso sidling up to the stable looking a little sheepish, if a gorgeous peacock could look sheepish. “ Great to see you today Pico --how are those yoga classes going? Are they helping your back?”

“Yoga is going well, just practicing my meditations this morning.”

“That’s the secret, a lot of practice.”

Excerpt from "Picasso's Tail"

Her tail, Picasso thought, must truly be Magnificent because the others could hardly look her in the eye or speak to her directly when it was up, for gazing at the shimmering blues and greens that change with the slightest tilt of direction.

But the main reason she loved her poetic kaleidoscope tail was that she felt special and beautiful and real when she shared it. However, the raising of it was difficult, not just physically, but because of the exquisite vulnerability of the thing.

EAnimals at the Sea View inn

Solomon comments that he is so relieved that Kozy decided not to bring the Kayaks this year, so that he can relax and not worry about her paddling out too far looking for dolphins and sea turtles.

Kozy floats a little too far out on the huge round orange float that she finds under the house.

Zee, though having been under the weather, courageously swims out against the current to bring her to safety. He decides to recover by signing up for several of the massages that are offered at the Inn.

Trooper names Kozy's float the "SS Histrionic".

Solomon fusses at Kozy and suggests that she may have put Zee at some risk.

Picasso reads her book about beach yoga.

Champ rakes the sand for a rousing game of Beach Bocce Ball.

Buddy agrees to take a walk after dinner with his good friend Picasso and discuss the books they are both reading.

Einstein avoids the sun and reads the Wall Street Journal on the porch. He will go for a swim later when the sun is low and the others are on the porch drinking Libertea and such.

Chief will fly down in his private plane to join them later in the week, after his business meeting.

Kozy puts the SS Histrionic back under the house and decides to rent a surf board instead which she named "Old Yeller" because of it's vivid yellow hue. Unfortunately Kozy is unable to stand up on Old Yeller.

Solomon and Trooper decide that since they were on vacation, they should summon grace when it came to Kozy's quirky sea toys. . . Kozy appreciates the support.

The Fourth of July Family Reunion

EAnimals Fourth of July Family Reunion

Young Solomon having imbibed a respectable amount of his homemade LiberTea is teaching little Buddy and little Solomon how to spit water out of their mouths by taking large gulps of water and slapping their cheeks with their hands so that the water spurts straight out.

The two older Solomons are shaking their heads and discussing how this will lead to problems in the future.

Kozy is running around making sure everyone has water to drink so that no one gets dehydrated in the 93 degree weather. ( The next day Kozy relaxes into her inner Picasso and writes a story about the reunion.)

Trooper is working like a dog (sorry Buddy) running back and forth from the grill with giant amounts of ribs, Beer Can chicken, hot dogs, hambugers, and grilled in the husk corn. Everyone later agreed that without Trooper the event wouldn't have been possible!

Younger Buddy the father of the little Buddy and little Solomon makes 20 trips to take the little ones to the facilities after swallowing so much water practicing the squirting maneuver.

Older Buddy is taking pictures of the entire family out on the lawn.

Quite a few of the other Buddys & Kozys are thoroughly enjoying their food and complimenting the cook!
